I had the same issue! Same finger, too lol I almost cut my finger off (not actually) slicing an onion, and it cut the nail. I started taking biotin every day and now they’re long, so I was so sad.. I used semi-cured nail strips and they held it together:)

i can’t grow my nails out that long but oh my goodness i just know ur heart sunk when you noticed it was broken
